My Journey, My China, with Marcus Reubenstein
Spend an afternoon with photographer, and former SBS News Senior Reporter, Marcus Reubenstein, as he talks about his travels across China. Over the past decade he’s journeyed through more than 20 cities in the world’s most populous nation. Through his lens he’s captured ordinary Chinese people against the backdrop of a culture steeped in both ancient tradition and an incredibly fast paced modern society.
From a collection of more than 19,000 images 44 prints were chosen to showcase China and its people for the landmark CHINA Moments in Time exhibition. Another 30 images are displayed in multi-media installations. Marcus talks about the process of taking these images and then choosing final exhibition prints, which are all reproduced in magnificent large format, capturing brilliant emotions, colour and imagery.
An open Q&A session will give you an insight into the photographic process, the excitement and sometimes challenges of traveling China with camera gear in tow. You’re welcome at this great afternoon with the artist behind one of the must see events of the Sydney 2019 Lunar New Year Festival.
