Marcus Reubenstein


Marcus Reubenstein began taking photos while in high school in Sydney, using manual SLR cameras with black & white film. He learned to not only shoot images but to develop and print his own images in a darkroom, giving him a deep understanding of the entire photographic process.

Apart from more than thirty cities across China, he’s shot photo essays in New York, Chicago, Washington DC, throughout Australia and Southeast Asia.

As a photojournalist his images have been distributed online through Australian Associated Press and Alamy, reproduced online and in print publications including, Sydney Morning Herald, Australian Financial Review, The Age, Sun Herald, The Australian and News Corp Local. His images have appeared across websites in more than 30 countries.

In 2022, he released the first book of his photography, “MOMENTS IN TIME: A journey across China”.

Marcus has produced and directed a number of short documentary films and spent 18 years in television news, sport and current affairs as both a producer and reporter; working with the Seven Television Network, SBS News (Australia), CNN International and the Olympic Broadcasting Service. He is also author of the Sydney Olympic Games satirical novel Five Ring Circus.
